Toolkit for Neurodiversity: Phase 1

Building Inclusive Youth Work Across Europe

Toolkit for Neurodiversity: Phase 1 is an ERASMUS+ Small Scale Partnerships project dedicated to supporting youth workers, educators, and organizations in creating more inclusive environments for both neurodivergent and neurotypical young people.

The project responds to the growing need for accessible, practical, and evidence-based approaches to inclusion in youth work and non-formal education. Through international cooperation, research, and testing, the partnership aims to develop a practical online toolkit and platform that helps youth workers better understand neurodiversity and apply inclusive methods in their everyday activities.

Our Mission

The project aims to shed light on the specific challenges neurodivergent young people face in social, educational, and youth activities. By combining research, practical experience, and international collaboration, we seek to promote understanding, empathy, and equal participation for all young people.

Our goal is to create a toolkit that is:

  • Practical and easy to use
  • Tested in real youth work environments
  • Accessible online
  • Evidence-based and adaptable
  • Designed for everyday use by youth workers and educators

Project Objectives

Developing a Practical Neurodiversity Toolkit

We are researching, collecting, and creating innovative tools and methods — including energizers, icebreakers, group activities, and training methods — that help youth workers engage neurodivergent and neurotypical youth together in meaningful and inclusive ways.

Strengthening the Capacity of Youth Workers

The project provides youth workers and organizations with knowledge, skills, and practical approaches to better understand neurodiversity and create inclusive spaces for all participants.

Testing and Improving the Toolkit

The developed methods and activities will be piloted locally and internationally to ensure they are effective, adaptable, and useful in real-life youth work settings.

Raising Awareness About Neurodiversity

We aim to reduce stigmatization and increase understanding of neurodiversity by promoting awareness, empathy, and inclusive practices within communities and organizations.

Building Sustainable European Cooperation

The partnership brings together organizations across Europe committed to integrating neurodiversity into youth work policies and practices for long-term impact and future collaboration.
