Objectives of the exercise:
- to conclude and integrate the experiences of the day,
- to support emotional regulation and self-awareness,
- to provide participants with an opportunity for reflection,
- to encourage mindful closure of the group process,
- to strengthen a sense of participation and group connection.
Procedure:
Participants gather in a circle, creating a space in which everyone can see and hear one another.
The instructor explains that the purpose of the activity is to briefly reflect on the day’s experiences and bring the session to a meaningful close.
One at a time, participants are invited to share their current impression, feeling, or key takeaway from the day using one of the following forms:
- a single word,
- a short sentence,
- a gesture, movement, or body expression.
Participants may choose the form that feels most comfortable and appropriate for them. There is no expectation to explain or justify their response.
As each person shares, the rest of the group listens attentively and respectfully without commenting, interpreting, or responding.
The activity continues until all participants who wish to contribute have had an opportunity to do so.
After the round is completed, the instructor may thank participants for their engagement and formally close the session.
Methodological guidelines:
- Participation should remain voluntary, and participants may choose to pass if they do not wish to share.
- Emphasize that there are no right or wrong responses.
- Encourage brevity to allow everyone an opportunity to contribute.
- Accept all forms of expression, including silence, if appropriate to the participant’s needs.
- Avoid discussing, analyzing, or evaluating participants’ contributions.
- The instructor should model openness and respect while maintaining a calm and supportive atmosphere.
- Allow participants to express both positive and challenging emotions.
- Focus on the experience of reflection and closure rather than on reaching consensus or drawing conclusions.
